Tonight, September 16, the world premiere of the film Aydinlar-Where the World Ends by German director Diane Naecke, one of the titles from the feature film competition of the 31st Split Film Festival, will be held at the Karaman Cinema. The screening starts at 9 p.m., and admission to the world premiere is free, while other screenings at the Karaman Cinema are charged.
The screening of the film Afterword directed by Yi-Chiang Lin, originally scheduled for September 16 at 9 p.m., was moved to September 17 at 10:30 p.m.
Aydinlar-Where the World Ends is the third feature-length documentary by Diane Naecke, a Berlin-based filmmaker, journalist and visual artist. The film starts from the unusual dystopian premise of the disappearance of the sea and, through an atmospheric approach, follows the community that still believes in its return.
Yesterday’s program took place again at all four festival locations. A new block of short film competition was held at the Karaman Cinema, while She Who Passes Through Time was shown at the Zlatna vrata Cinema, followed by a Croatian short film program with six titles. In Academia Club Ghetto, Mother Age was shown, and in Galić Salon, the competition exhibition of media art continued, as well as the workshop of poetic photography and film for children.
Today, the program at Kino Karaman starts at 7:00 p.m. with a new block of short film competition. At 9:00 PM, the world premiere of Aydinlar – Where the World Ends takes place.
At the Zlatna Vrata Cinematheque, the program begins at 6:30 PM with screenings from the Forum program. The Forum program continues at 8:00 PM at Academia Club Ghetto.
The media art competition continues at Salon Galić, while the final day of the poetic photography and film workshop for children aged 9 to 15 takes place starting at 1:00 PM. The workshops will be followed by an exhibition of works created during the four-day program.
