Benjamin was born in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. While studying Communication and Media Studies and English in Rostock, he created his first short films. These often dealt with societal observations in eastern Germany. He worked as a programmer for the Filmkunstfest MV and is co-founder of the production company flüsterfilm. Benjamin’s short films have been screened at numerous festivals and international programs, including In short, Europe in London. He is currently co-directing the feature-length documentary Stammgast (WT).
