Sommer Dreams

A filmmaker from Zacatecas, Zacatecas born in 1985. He studied a graduate degree in literature in the Universidad Autonoma de Zacatecas from 2006 to 2009. He won first place in the “El viento tiene miedo” short stories contest with his piece “El Proscenio”, publishing it in the anthology of the same name. He also won first place in the “Fronteras Migrantes” Film Festival in 2009 in Zacatecas with his short film “El hoyo” (The pit). Ivan has worked with filmmaker Ivan Avila Dueñas in his documentary: “Zacateco Labor Vincit Omnia” as an Assistant Director. Winner of the contest “Mi Zacatecas Ideal” (My ideal Zacatecas), organized by the ”Instituto de la Juventud del Estado de Zacatecas” (Youth Institute of the Zacatecas State) and the “3rd Muestra Nacional de Cine en Fresnillo” (3rd National Film Exhibit in Fresnillo) in 2010. He currently studies the fourth year specializing as a Director at the “Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica” (CCC) film school in Mexico City.
