Loss of family space, work space, urban space and memory space. These four subdivisions of space tested by time, searching for and responding to each other, contaminated by chaos in a town falling apart.

I am of that earth that I have never known. As with so many children of the Armenian diaspora, I was raised with the images of a country that are maintained by cultural and community memory. Beyrouth was the place of my childhood, Brussels, the place of my teenage years and now adulthood. Yerevan is the place that I carry within me, never touched, never known.
Ici-Bas (Down Here), my latest film, was the opportunity to realise this encounter.
