The existentialist director and actor duo Heinrich Hugenrubel (Carlo Ljubek) and Franz Arnold (Clemens Schick) are celebrated in Germany for the nihilistic truthfulness of the films they produce together. They are made for oneanother; the beast-like actor paired with a director who constructs a cage, a stage, for him, so that the audience may also enjoy this creature/creation. On arriving in Hollywood, the duo finds nothing is impossible and money is not an issue. But do the lavish sets and expensive effects allow space for TRUTH? For the very truthfulness that brought them fame and honour back in Germany?
Sergej Moya
Born in East Berlin in 1987 Sergej Moya found himself in front of the camera for the first time in Edward Bergers cinema film FRAU 2 SUCHT HAPPY END. On set the 12 year old understood that the art of telling stories, in front as well as behind the camera, would grow to be more than just a hobby in his life. Ten years later, at the beginning of 2009 Sergej started shooting his currently untitled trilogy composed of AKT I: DIE BLAUE PERIODE, AKT II: HOLLYWOOD DRAMA and AKT III: ALS ICH MIR BEGEGNETE, thus making his debut as an author, director and producer. The shoot for AKT III is scheduled for 2011 in Berlin and Paris.
