The fourth day of the 31st Split Film Festival, on Monday, September 14, brought the program to all four festival locations – in the Karaman Cinema, Zlatna vrata Cinema, Academia Club Ghetto and Salon Galić. In addition to the screenings and festival programs, the day was marked by a large audience response, especially in the Zlatna vrata Cinematheque, where the Dalmatian experimental film program brought together numerous authors and other representatives of the local film scene.
The first block of the short film competition was held at the Karaman Cinema, which included the screenings of The Day’s Mother, the Night’s End, Mother of a Son, Love’s a Bitch, Blue, Film Copacabana and M.. The evening concluded with a screening of the film Chihiro | Akemi by director Satoshi Natori from the feature film competition.
In the Zlatna vrata cinema, the program dedicated to Dalmatian experimental film continued, which gathered the audience and part of the local film scene in Split. At 18:30, Monologue on Split, Fluorescences, Shir Hashirim, Leroy, Meditations, Navigations, Round Around, Escape, The Split Watercolor and I, The Housewife are shown. The program continued at 20:30 with the Croatian films Zaljev directed by Paula Skelin and Sluga directed by Matija Debeljuh.
A Focus program with four short films – Jeem 1983, Dying of the Young Deer, Muse and Future of… was held at Academia Club Ghetto. The program attracted a large number of visitors and the seats were filled less than half an hour before the screenings, so early arrival is recommended.
In Salon Galić, the exhibition of the media art competition continued, while a poetic photography and film workshop for children was held in parallel. Thus, the festival program also included film, experimental practices, media art and an educational program at four locations in the city.
Today, the 31st Split Film Festival continues with new programs at the Karaman Cinema, Zlatna vrata Cinema, Academia Club Ghetto and Salon Galić.
At the Karaman cinema at 7 p.m., a new block of short film competition is scheduled, which brings the films Samsara, Trophy, Every Epoch Dreams The Next, Sofiane and Kleptomania. Aydinlar-Where The World Ends, which is part of the feature film competition, will be shown at 9 p.m.
In the Zlatna vrata Cinematheque, the program begins at 6:30 p.m. with a screening of the film She Who Passes Through Time directed by Nicole Hewitt. At 20:30 there will be a program of Croatian short films, with a selection of six films by local authors.
At the Academia Club Ghetto at 8 p.m., the Focus program continues with the screening of the film Mother Age.
In Salon Galić, the Media Art Competition continues, and from 13:00 to 15:00 there will be a poetic photography and film workshop for children aged 9 to 15. The workshop continues until September 16, followed by an exhibition of works created during the workshop.
