After the film programme of the 31st Split Film Festival opened at Karaman Cinema on Saturday, the Festival continued its programme on Sunday, September 13, across three locations: Karaman Cinema, Kinoteka Zlatna vrata and Salon Galić. Today, Monday, September 14, the programme continues with feature and short films, Croatian cinema, special programmes and the Focus programme with a new location; Academia Club Ghetto.
Last night at Karaman Cinema, two films from the Feature Competition were screened. The programme began at 7 PM with Where the Sun Shines Bright, followed by Glorious Summer at 9 PM.
At 6:30 PM, Zlatna vrata hosted a retrospective dedicated to Aleksandar Stasenko, organised in collaboration with the Croatian State Archives. The programme included four films- Pogled u sumrak, Posljednji, Miting u Odjelu IV F and Vrijeme heroja. All four titles were screened in the same slot and are digitised films by an author whose body of work is strongly connected to Split and Dalmatia. The retrospective was followed at Zlatna vrata by the Croatian feature film Between Us, directed by Laura Pascu.
The programme also continued at Salon Galić, where the Media Art Competition, which opened on Friday, September 11, continued. The exhibition was open to the public from 10 AM to 1 PM and again from 5 PM to 9 PM, while a Photography and Film workshop for children was held at 1 PM. The workshop continues through September 16, followed by an exhibition of the works created during the workshop.
Today, the programme continues across three festival locations, with several programme blocks taking place throughout the day. At 7 PM, Karaman Cinema hosts the Short Film Competition. The programme includes The Day’s Mother, the Night’s End, Mother of a Son, Love’s a Bitch, Blue, Film Copacabana and M. The evening continues at 9 PM with Chihiro | Akemi, a title from the Feature Competition.
At Zlatna vrata the programme dedicated to Dalmatian experimental film begins at 6:30 PM. The screening includes Monologue On Split, Fluorescences, Shir Hashirim, Leroy, Meditation, Navigations, Round Around, Escape, The Split Watercolour and I, The Housewife.
At 8:30 PM, Zlatna vrata presents a Croatian film programme featuring Between Land And Sea, directed by Paula Skelin, and The Servant, directed by Matija Debeljuh. Both films are part of the Croatian Film programme.
At 8 PM, Academia Club Ghetto hosts the Focus Shorts programme, featuring four short films: Jeem 1983, Dying of the Young Deer, Muse and Future of…
Following its first full day, the Festival continues to expand beyond its main cinema venue, with parallel screenings and special programmes taking place across three additional locations in the city.
