An exhibition of three decades of the Split Film Festival in the unique ambience of Diocletian’s Cellars!

September 9, 2025

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the iconic Split Film Festival, the oldest international event dedicated to film and new media in Croatia, an exhibition of archival materials is opening in the Cellars of Diocletian’s Palace. The grand opening of the exhibition will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 12:00.

Until September 17, passersby will have the opportunity to view the archival panels that offer a cross-section of three decades of the festival’s history, with a special emphasis on the festival leadership, prominent guests from the world of audiovisual art, accompanying programs, unforgettable anecdotes and the festival’s recognizable visual identity. By remaining faithful to auteur film, it opened the door to works that changed the course of film art and put Split on the cultural map of the world. At the same time, it also announces this year’s festival edition, which will be held from September 12 to 16.

The exhibition will be opened on behalf of the City of Split by the Head of the Department of Culture, Marina Kuzmanić Petreš, together with curator Ana Čukušić. The visual design is by designer Segor Garber.

We would like to thank the Split City Museum and the City of Split for their support.
