Mario Kokotović

Mario Kokotović (b. 1969) is a full professor at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb, where he teaches in the Department of Cinematography. He holds a PhD in Film Studies from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb. During his studies, he was a scholarship student at the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin, supported by the German government. At the Academy, he has played an active role in shaping the curriculum, particularly following the introduction of the Bologna Process, with a strong emphasis on courses covering cinematography, colour, lighting, and video technology. He has produced educational resources and professional publications on cinematography, documentary film, and digital technologies. As a visiting lecturer, he has taught at various universities and led numerous artistic workshops both in Croatia and internationally. He has held positions as Head of Production Programmes and Chief Producer at HTV and remains an active member of the Filmmakers Association of Croatia. His work also encompasses several textbooks, professional manuals, scripts for video lessons, and articles featured in Hrvatski filmski ljetopis.
