David Lušičić

Born in 1976 in Rijeka, David Lušičić is an independent filmmaker and producer, as well as a leader of interdisciplinary cultural projects. He serves as an evaluation expert for the Creative Europe programme at EACEA and teaches at the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka and the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. He earned a Master’s degree in TV and Film Directing from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb, a Master of Arts from Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design in London, and studied Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana. Between 2011 and 2021, he founded and ran the independent art space and gallery Greta, subsequently launching the video art festival ‘Interface’. After completing his first independent film project, the feature-length omnibus Transmania, which premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival in 2016, he set up a production company through which he has developed and produced numerous innovative audiovisual projects. He is the creator of award-winning short documentaries and experimental films (Statut, Tube, Bez lica, Galeb), as well as his feature debut Mlungu – The White King, which premiered at ZagrebDox in 2022 and received accolades for Best Cinematography, Editing, and Sound. In 2025, he produced and directed his second feature film, Via Roma.
